Preparation
At the start of each workday, I give my office a once over with a duster. Following meditation, it is the routine by which I transition into the work.
It is a physical step: removal of dust, gentle cardiovascular exercise and encouragement of blood circulation.
It is an emotional step: the love and care with which I look after my office flows into the love and care with which I look after my clients.
It is an intellectual step: gentle removal of the baggage and debris of the day before helps me see the world, and my clients, through fresh eyes.
It is a spiritual step: a loving reminder to myself that I come from the same material as those who dust for a living, and from the dust itself.
